This chapter of the story begins as many epics do, with a house divided. The two Goddesses of Astrom, blood sisters, now wished to end the life of the other. A war waged between the two of them, one having control over the Moon and Gravity while the other controlled the Shadows. The reason for their battle was an old one. The sisters were fighting over who truly deserved to obtain the throne of their now dead parents, which would also get them the Powers of the other.
Sha was the older of the two, if only by a few years. She suffered the same treatment which many older siblings did, got yelled at over miniscule things while her sister was always seen as a shining light of grace. No matter what she did her dear younger sister, Luna, always took the shine away from it just by being in her life. It was not as if Luna wanted this to happen, she actually loved her sister dearly, but it was just how her parents were.
So the time finally came when her parents decided an heir to give their powers too. Most would think the answer would be obvious, the more powerful of the abilities should go to Sha because she was the older and the weaker should go to Luna. Yet this of course did not happen, for Luna would always be preferred. They willed it so that at their death the younger sibling would get all of their powers, Sha would be left without a single thing. Sha could not believe this, it made absolutely no sense to her in the least. She had been a kind enough person, had never touched a soul, and this was how she would be treated. So that night as her parents slept she snuck into their room and sent a dagger right through the chest of her dearest mother, the weapon being enchanted and stopping her heart upon piercing it. This would give Sha her powers, for if anyone defeated a God they would get their powers no matter who they actually wished them to go to. She then turned to her father, who she believed to still be asleep. However, her father had woken up and instead of fighting his daughter he willed his powers to Luna, making it so that once Sha had stabbed him no powers came to her.
The small details of what happened next do not matter, for the result should make it obvious enough. The two sisters went to war with each other, each gaining loyal followers who gave their life to the cause of their Goddess. It was a war which waged for over thirty years, The Goddesses not aging because of their newfound powers. Sha had control over The Shadows, being able to turn the shadow of someone against them in any manner imaginable. Luna had control over the moon and gravity, being able to apply such extreme pressure onto someone that their bones would not be able to hold. Their battle tore giant holes into the planet, random bystanders being murdered on complete accident. This was when it happened, the one thing which would make this war seem miniscule.
A scientist known as Mikael was known on Astrom for being ingenious, if not eccentric. He had gone into the middle of a field, far from society, and had begun working on something unknown to all but himself. It was a time machine, an item which he believed would be able to let him go back in time. Mikael had almost completed it, was truly going to try it out on the following day, when the battle between Sha and Luna made it to his doorstep. The sisters waged war right on his land, and the pure chaos of it forced an explosion from inside of his shop. The explosion was so grand that it rained death upon dozens of The Astromians doing war, even making The Goddesses ran from the blast.
A day went by, and Luna sent an envoy to see what had happened the night before. Her people were afraid of returning, but she promised that the light of the moon would shine down and protect them. So they returned in hopes that they would find nothing, and in the end they were fairly close. Past the twisted heaps of metal which covered a half mile radius, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. All of his research had been destroyed, the machine was now strewn over the land and it was doubtful anyone would be able to figure out how to put it together again. The crew were excited over having found nothing, glad they had not even run into Sha. However on their way out they saw a golden glow coming from the center of the blast and curiosity forced them to see what it was.
A boy was laying in the rubble, a powerful golden aura covering his body. His hair was golden and spiked, a sword resting inside of a sheath on his back. They could feel the power coming from him, were afraid to get to close. Yet as they watched the golden aura simply vanished, the hair of the boy falling as it turned a light purple. They had never seen something of the sort, didn’t understand what it was, so they called upon Luna for guidance.
Since that day people have been appearing all over Astrom which do not belong there. They say they are from another world, that one moment they were living their life and the next they simply appeared there. These people are different, scare some of the Astromians. Yet The Goddesses see the use in them, force their followers to treat them with kindness. For this would be their way to turn the tide of the battle, to obtain superiority over the others. Oh how wonderful this would have been, but there was a slight issue which came to be. Beings who considered themselves Gods began to appear as well, and many decided this world would be a wonderful place to call their own.
It is now up to The Astromians and newcomers to shape how this world will become. Which God reigns supreme will all be up to who helps them, or who stands against them. For some of the newcomers refuse to follow a soul and are threatening to revoke the life of one of The Gods. Everything is possible in Astrom.
