Logan couldn't help but notice how Emma laughed, enjoying herself. He wouldn't have assumed that he was doing her some good, but if he had, he would make that moment last a little longer.
Have you never had a dog before?
He asked, leaving out the seriously personal questions and asking anything general - polite conversation. Which reminded him that he was due to phone back home later today or when he could. His mother would probably be expecting or needing that money soon. He had tried to convince her to quit waitressing, especially when she was aging faster than she should. His godparents had said that she looked older even a few days after he had left home. He couldn't imagine what she would look like next time he saw her. He didn't want to think about it.
Are you cold?
He remembered that she had shivered earlier, just a minute before. Still, he wouldn't keep her out here if she had chills.

Emma couldn’t help but laugh a little longer. It had been a long time since she’d laughed at all and she liked it. She liked talking to Logan, it was the first guy she’d really talked too much besides her brother, because of the whole trust issue. She looked at him when he asked her a question and shook her head. ”No, but I’ve always wanted one.” She said shrugging. ”I actually love dogs.” She said smiling. It was the truth, she’d always wanted a dog, she’d always loved them.
Emma remembered the time she’d asked her parents for a dog, that hadn’t gone over well. Her brother hadn’t been there and it had gotten her beaten for asking, well that wasn’t the only reason, she’d asked them when they were drunk which was always bad. When her brother came home then he was mad, at her for asking without him there and his parents for doing that too her. She’d ended up with a broken wrist for that one. She sighed slightly and shook her head to get the thoughts out, she hated thinking about her family. She had been so lost in thought she had almost missed his next question and it took a moment to register. ”A little. But I’m ok, I forgot my coat at home.” She said shrugging, she’d live in the cold, but she wasn’t sure if it was good for her baby. She put a hand on her stomach sort of subconsciously.

Hayden settled down, his back hollowing as he stretched, eventually just plopping himself down on the ground with a dull thud. He started to pant again as he looked up at Emmaline and Logan, his eyes especially keen on his owner.
Hayden and I are going to come down every sunday. So, maybe you'd like to join us if you wanted to.
He laid the offer out on the table, feeling a little bit hopeful but not keen on letting it get ahead of him.
Logan hadn't noticed that she'd been in thought, perhaps because he was also in his own world. Worrying about his mother wasn't an abnormal thing, despite his initial mistrust and lack of support. He didn't often think about his mother when he was back in Arizona, but now that he was far from home, it was hard not to think about her. Emma put her hand on her stomach after she had finished speaking and Logan couldn't help but notice it, probably giving it more meaning than he had meant to. He had known someone, a close friend, who had gotten pregnant. She hadn't told him but he had eventually just asked. She had always put her hand on her stomach whenever she worried, sometimes doing it at other times - it had given her away, but Logan wasn't sure if he was guessing right this time. He didn't bother to mention it.
Do you want to get a drink or something back in town? You know, something to warm you up.

Emma smiled slightly to himself as she watched Hayden lay down on the ground. She really liked Hayden, he seemed like a nice dog. If only she had a dog, like she'd always wanted. Why had her parents cared if she got a dog, it wasn't like she was going to train it to attack them, although that did seem like a good idea now. She should have went out and bought the dog on her own, screw what her parents said. It would have been great to have a dog, it still would be great though. Emma heard the question Logan asked and smiled then. "Really. Umm...yeah sure that'd be fun." She said nodding. She actually surprised herself at her answer. Usually she didn't agree and even if she did it usually took a lot of convincing to finally get a yes. But there was something different about Logan, she trusted him unlike most guys.
Emma stood there for a moment with her hand on her stomach before she realized it was there and quickly pulled it off. She didn't want him to ask about it, but if she was going to start hanging out with him she'd have to tell him eventually. Seeing as it would be obvious very soon, she was already starting to show, but she covered it up with baggy clothes most of the time. She just wanted to start clean in this town, but it'd be pretty hard seeing as she was pregnant and nobody knew her. She just didn't want to be judged for something that wasn't her fault. Emma looked at Logan when he asked if she wanted to get a drink with him. She wasn't sure what to say, she couldn't drink alcohol or coffee, which pretty much was torture to her. She didn't drink alcohol that much but coffee was her life. she couldn't stand going without coffee and now she had too. She sighed and shrugged. "Ummm....what did you have in mind for drinks?" She asked then, seeing as it'd be safer to know and tell him if she needed too.

Logan felt comfortable with Emmaline, which wasn't anything unusual for him. You would expect a guy like him to be slightly withdrawn from people who weren't from his "type", but Logan seemed to dodge those odds. His "type" was considered the boozers and law-breakers but he seemed to have shied from that scene for a few months now. Sure, he had hung out with those people but not in that scenario. A drink or two, a couple of laughs and then he'd head back home to look after his mother or take care of the house. Most of the time he'd be working anyhow, to support his mother and himself. It hadn't been easy because he had had to start at a young age, but his mother also contributed some of her earnings. She thought Logan didn't know, but she kept money aside for drinks for when he wasn't there. It hadn't been exactly fair but Logan let her be and kept doing what he needed to do. He felt more obligated to support her than out of love.
Anything that you'd prefer. Just a cooldrink or hot chocolate, or something along those lines. I thought just being indoors would help. It is getting a bit cold.
He could feel a slight chill pricking at his skin but Logan didn't feel the cold quite so easily. Sure, he knew it was there but it hardly bothered him. He was delighted to have had a yes from her, referring to sundays in the parks. It went like clockwork - every sunday he'd throw a ball around for Hayden, or even a frisbee if he had one. It was his dogs highlight of the week, otherwise Logan would just take him around for walks when he could.
ooc: Congrats on friendship of the month for our characters. =]

Emma felt so comfortable with Logan. She hadn’t felt this way around a guy since she’d lived with her brother, but that was completely different. She would usually still be barely talking to him if she had still been in New York. But something about him and this town was completely different and strangely comforting. He’d been nothing but nice this whole time and she couldn’t help but trust him, which she knew could be bad but she couldn’t quite convince herself that it was bad. She didn’t know why she had trusted him so quickly but she just had. She knew her coming here with him on Sunday’s could be considered date like, but she wasn’t sure how he meant it and she wasn’t going to ask. She figured he didn’t mean it that way, seeing as he barely knew her and that she couldn’t see why someone like him would like someone like her. She never actually had a boyfriend or been dating so if it was a date she wouldn’t know how to act. She didn’t know what to think about it all though so she pushed all the thoughts from her head.
She nodded when he said about the drinks. At least it hadn’t been for alcohol, well at least it wasn’t the drink he meant completely. ”Yeah ok. That sounds good.” She said smiling and nodding at him. ”Indoors would help.” She said smiling. She didn’t know where he wanted to go though and she didn’t really know anywhere around her. She then remembered she didn’t have any money, she didn’t have a job and she had just got the apartment so she was broke. ”But I have not money.” She said sighing and feeling bad. ”I mean I just got the apartment and that was off my brother’s money and now I’m sort of broke, until I get a job.” She said shrugging. She bit her lip and shifted slightly. She didn’t want to spend his money, she barely knew him and she’d feel even more horrible. Unless he meant they were going back to his place, which could be bad. She didn’t know but thinking about all of it was starting to make her uncomfortable and panic a little. She didn’t say anything though.
Ooc: Congrats to you too! =]

Hayden began to lick his paw, yawning again and then he looked at his owners shoe. He stared for a while until eventually he started to lick Logan's shoe, biting at the shoelaces with lazy intent. Logan felt this and looked down, containing a laugh as he knelt down to scratch behind Hayden's ears to keep his dog from ruining his good pair of shoes. He looked up at Emmaline, a gentle but pleasant smile still on his lips. Had he even stopped smiling since he had met her? It felt damn good to be smiling like this again. He hadn't for a while. After dropping the carpenting business he was a little low, having to make a couple of decisions that regarded both his life and his mother's. He liked to smile, and he was beginning to like Emmaline a heck of a lot too for helping him in this way.
Logan was about to reply to her agreeing to join him for drinks when she was speaking again, looking uncertain and growing uncomfortable. He read her body language in this way, but Logan never was too good at reading body language. Maybe he had it wrong, but he would try to reassure her anyway.
I know where you're at. I had to use my godparents money to get over here from Arizona. And I'm sure that buying you a drink won't burn a hole in my pocket.
His smile grew more encouraging as he leaned over a bit to peer up at her, seeing as her eyes seemed downcast.
Plus, you already said yes.
He then straightened, holding his arm out for her to take.
Miss Sykes, I believe there's a hot chocolate with your name on it waiting for us in town.

Emma smiled slightly to herself when Hayden yawned. She had to contain her laugh though when he started licking Logan’s shoe. She always wondered why dogs like chewing on shoes, what was so good about them. She watched as Logan started petting the dog, they seemed to work well together. She’d always wanted a relationship like that, something or someone she could work well with. But she’d always been on the bad end of relationships, so she usually tried to stay away from them. Emma smiled back at Logan, she couldn’t help it, usually it was hard for her to smile. She actually couldn’t remember the last time she’d smiled like this. But this just felt right, for some reason.
Emma bit her lip when he said he’d buy her a drink. She wasn’t sure she wanted that, she didn’t like taking other people’s money. After a moment she sighed and shrugged. ”I guess if you don’t mind.” She said quietly then. She couldn’t help but smile back at him and she laughed slightly at what he said next. ”I guess you’re right. I did say yes.” She said shaking her head slightly, but a smile stayed on her face the whole time. She smiled and bit her lip before she took his arm. She laughed and looked at Logan. ”I believe there is too. Let’s go.” She said laughing and shaking her head. She was having fun with him, which was a first for Emma, she couldn’t remember ever having fun with a guy other then her brother.

It was a warm feeling having her arm taking his. The contact wasn't like an electric charge or a lightning bolt up your back, it was just like filling a gap or a lonesome place.
Great.
Logan replied, looking across at her then signaling for Hayden to come along. He was trained to wait outside or he would just have to drop Hayden off back at the apartment. His dog didn't usually mind, so long as he got something for it, the brat.
C'mon boy.
As they started off towards one of the main streets surrounding the parks, Logan had a thought.
Would you prefer one of the bars or...
He fumbled in his mind to remember the name.
I think the place is called Blossoms? Its a restaurant around the same area.
One of the bars was non-smoking if he remembered correctly, but he was always mixing things up with the smallest of details.
OOC: I sent you a message but I'm doing this reply in any case. Had a bit of a blonde moment. x_o

Emma liked being with Logan. She thought it was nice, compared to the normal uncomfortable feeling she got when she was with guys. She didn’t even feel weird walking while holding onto his arm. Things were definitely different around here, but in a good way as far as she could tell. She smiled and nodded when he said great. She had a feeling this was going to be great, even if she hadn’t told him she was pregnant yet. She glanced back to looked at Hayden. She wondered what they were going to do with him while they were inside getting drinks. She didn’t want him to run away or anything, she liked the dog, as well as the owner.
Emma looked at him while they were walking. She thought for a second about his question. She knew the bar would probably be the better place to go but she didn’t want to be tempted to drink. But she didn’t really want to go to a restaurant unless he really wanted to. After a second she shrugged. ”I don’t care. One of the bars is ok.” She said then. ”Unless you want to go to the restaurant.” She added then, in case he wanted to go there. She didn’t want him to go somewhere just because she wanted to go there. Besides she didn’t really know any places in the area yet. She just wanted to spend some time with him, he seemed nice enough.

Logan looked at her whilst she looked back at him, obviously making up her mind about where she wanted to go. If someone didn't make the choice when he offered it to them then he would make a straight decision. It was quick and it was easy.
I work at one of the bars, so no complaints about it.
His shift was only tonight, still one of his first here in Lohunt but Logan was no stranger to performing in front of crowds. He'd done more than just singing back in Arizona.
OOC: I'll make a thread in the Bars board. =]
